Language packs for TinyMCE

Download language packs

This is the section where you can download the latest language packages, select one or more packages from the list, then press "download" to retrive the latest language packs(s) as a ZIP file. Unzip the contents in the root folder of TinyMCE.

If you notice a broken language package or some form of abuse in the language used, please use the email function in the forum to alert us of this. We can revert to older packages if needed.

Updating or Contributing language packs

If you wish to contribute by translating or updating a current language pack, follow these steps.

1. Click on the [XML] link for the english language pack, or the pack you wish to upgrade.
2. Open the xml file using a text editor, check for the following line <language code="en" title="English" dir="ltr"> and make sure it is correct for your language ISO 639-1 code list
3. Fill in your contact/author information, and proceed to translate all the strings in the XML, try to keep strings short and to the point.
4. Use the form to Upload your updated or new XML file.
5. Select the checkbox next to the language you uploaded, an click on the download button, you will get a ZIP file.
6. Unpack the ZIP file into your TinyMCE folder, start TinyMCE and see how the translations looks.

The upload form will validate the XML file towards the schema, if something goes wrong, check the above steps, try the XML in a browser to make sure its a valid formed XML document.

You can also test the XML file directly in TinyMCE by downloading the development package and run the translate.html file in the examples directory.
